A sanctuary, a safe and tender space to deeply relax,
let go of doing and allow the container of the Retreat
to hold you in loving arms as you choose to simply be…
Allow the experience of Silent Retreats to be the sanctuary, a loving container
in which to reveal simple truths about who you truly are and fill you with the much needed vitality for your life ahead….
“In silence there is great eloquence.
Stop weaving and see how the pattern improves.” ~ Rumi

I am beyond thrilled you are going to join in this precious moment of time.
Especially as we are having to surrender and adapt to so much at lightning speed right now!
You are gifting yourself an opportunity to pause and become still and return inward.
A chance to go below the frenzied surface of fear and change and find the still point in the calm
and the part of you that is unchanging even among all the turmoil.
If you’re nervous about the retreat take that as a good sign, if you’re a little resistant also take that as a good sign.
To me these are pointers that you were heading in absolutely the right direction.
The sweet, unsettled ego does not want to stop the spin or calm the adrenalin because it thinks it needs this to survive right now.
Allow this to be the precious pause much needed.
With our physical horizons so closed off, we are being forced to look inward.
At this precarious moment in time, the space we are longing for is within us.
In your body.
In your breath.
In your love of what you value.
This retreat will be the haven, the harbor, the sanctuary so needed.

IN PREPARATION:
The following is some guidance for you to prepare for what you need to make this experience rich, fulfilling and nurturing.
And the ego always likes to control something!
1. Choose a place in your home or environment that you can be alone.
As much privacy as possible would be wonderful but work with what you have!
Over the next few days make this room into a sacred space.
This could be making an altar, lighting a candle, picking some flowers from the garden.
Whatever you need to make the space feel calming, chosen and nurturing for you.
2. Let the people in your life know that you’re going to be out of commission for three hours.
If there’s an emergency obviously they come find you.
But otherwise set things up as best you can so you will not be disturbed and you can really set up this precious time just for you.
3. Build yourself a wonderful Sanctuary.
Gather some pillows, blankets, cushions, so you can build your own comfy nest.
Decide what you want to sit on for the meditations.
The meditations will be about 30 minutes each with breaks in between.
A chair is absolutely fine.
For the Yoga Nidra we will be lying down so if it’s in your bedroom you could always lie on your bed.
Or a sofa. Or put a mat out on the floor with some blankets. Have a pillow for your head and neck.
Maybe light a candle, pick some flowers.
4. Make sure you have the ability to charge whatever device you are using.
Best if that is in the room with you so you do not need to leave your space.
A phone or computer or iPad will work just fine.
5. Turn off all other technology.
Close all other windows so the Zoom meeting is all that is open.
Turn off devices so you will not be distracted by texts etc coming through during this time.
Temptation is a powerful mistress!
6. Have some water or tea with you.
I would offer not to have caffeine as we are realigning your nervous system out of stimulation.
Maybe have some snacks.
If you’re alone in the house you can keep food and drink in the kitchen.
If you’re trying to have some isolated space maybe take it in with you.
7. There will be breaks in between sitting for you to go to the bathroom or stretch your legs or go and be outside.
Maybe let your loved ones know this is not an opportunity to ask you to do something for them!
8. I will be ringing a bell for us to return back from breaks.
If you feel you might be going outside of the room in between meditation, maybe have a watch or phone just to keep an eye on the time.
9. Have a journal or some paper and a pen in case ideas, guidance or maybe a poem comes through.
Journalling is a wonderful medicine as the the written word is a potent healer.
10. No reading or mirrors or physical touch, just for these few hours.
Breathe... You got this!
I so appreciate your capacity to commit to something greater than your animal nature right now and to be a beacon of light in the shadow.
Know this will aid in your own health and well being and in return send out this echo to your loved ones and community.
I am beyond grateful for your commitment to a path greater that our fear, our attempt at control and our insatiable appetite for consuming.
Bless you for your courage.
With great love,
Miranda.
